Piggyback Rider visits Top 5 Travel Destinations of 2015

Posted by Piggyback Rider on 20th Jan 2015

With a new year underway, now is the time to book those tickets and hotels and pin down your 2015 vacation. We know it isn’t easy to decide on a place to visit, so in no particular order, we’ve listed 2015’s top five travel destinations.

1. Santiago, Chile. With a desert in the north, alpine tundra in the south and a gorgeous mountain landscape in between, Chile has all the natural splendor you could ask for in one topographically diverse nation. The capital city of Santiago is a world class city, featuring modern spectacles like the Gran Torre Santiago, the tallest building in Latin America. With architectural masterpieces like the Cerro Santa Lucia, you’ll get the same awesome Spanish architecture you’d find in Barcelona, at a fraction of the cost.

2. Galway, Ireland. If there’s one European town you need to visit this year, it’s definitely Galway, a booming port city situated just east of Ireland’s beautiful west coast. While towns like Dublin and Cork are fairly modernized, Galway has made strides to revive and preserve Irish culture with the National Irish Language Theatre and designation as an Irish speaking city. Downtown Galway is easy to walk and has plenty of great restaurants, bars, and cafes, while just outside the city you can explore the breathtaking Irish west coast on the Wild Atlantic Way, a scenic drive that stretches for 1,500 miles.

3. Bali, Indonesia. With a nightlife that’s second to none, a super diverse and stunning landscape, and a boatload of archaeology and history, Bali is the place to be in 2015. You want white sand beaches? Bali has them. You want shopping? Bali’s open air markets and shopping districts have it all. Get your Indonesian culture in the town of Ubud, and get some R&R at Nusa Dua beach.

4. Maui. Vacationing in paradise never gets old, and Maui has all that you’re looking for in a luxurious beach vacation and so much more. World class restaurants, surfing, hiking, city life, and just a touch of history again make Maui one of the top travel spots of 2015. Check out Maui’s only winery, The Tedeschi Winery, the surreal Road to Hana, and Mt. Haleakala, a dormant volcano that stretches over 10,000 feet into the air.

5. Toronto, Ontario. It’s still one of the top tourist destinations in the world for a good reason— well, a lot of reasons. Toronto has the same hustle, bustle, and towering skyscrapers you’ll find in the Big Apple, but a touch friendlier, cleaner, and more welcoming than NYC. It even has a Chinatown—the second largest on the continent. Uber touristy types will get a bird’s eye view of Toronto from the top of that needlelike CN Tower, while the adventurous types will get their kicks in hip places like the Distillery Historic District, Liberty Village, and Little Poland.

While you’re deciding on a place to visit this year, if you have toddlers, make sure to bring your Piggyback Rider.
