Heat Awareness
Posted by The Piggyback Rider Team on 15th May 2017
Summer is just around the corner which means it’s getting hot, hot, hot. May is Heat Awareness month and because we promote so much outdoor activity, we think it’s important to also promote safety measures for being outdoors in the summer time.
First and foremost, it is so important to stay hydrated. Dehydration can happen quickly and without you even knowing it, so it is crucial to continuously drink water throughout the day. Children should have anywhere from 5-8 cups of water per day (depending on their age) and adults should drink around 8 cups. The Piggyback Rider knows how important hydration is, especially when exploring the great outdoors, so we include a hydration pack in our Explorer models.
Another important thing to consider when you are outdoors a lot in the summer is sun protection. Whether it’s sunscreen or hats, you want to protect your skin from those powerful UV rays. Matching hats aren’t required but we think are the best!
If it’s too hot for your family outdoors, consider all the fun indoor places you can take your Piggyback Rider. From aquariums to indoor ballparks, find the perfect place to take your Piggyback Rider and avoid the extreme heat that comes along with summertime.
We can’t wait to see all the amazing adventures you go on this summer, but always remember that the weather is hotter and more precaution needs to be taken. To get your very own Piggyback Rider visit us online!
