we used it with our 4 yearold that is around 20 kilos. he had issues leveling since the metal bar for the feet is not fixed. so his right food got always a little deeper than the left because he tried to lean on the right. also the metal bar is a little too small so he was not that comfortable standing on it and after a while got tired. maybe a wider standing bar or one the folds open in 2 pieces would help?
did help on the hikes, but would like to get a little more for my money :)

I just bought Piggyback Rider EXPLORER model on Amazon. I have been using my friends Piggyback Rider EXPLORER for over a week now. I must say that my son loves it. He gets in and out of it whenever he gets tired from walking or some mild hikes. The straps needs sometime to get used to. You will need to adjust it a few times to get it correct and comfortable.
I do want to say that you child will not be able to sleep and fully rest when on Piggyback Rider. They will have to be standing all the time. Piggyback Rider EXPLORER is our alternative to a regular hiking child carrier. It is easier to carry around town and on public transportation.

I cannot say enough good things about this carrier. After receiving it my husband and almost 3 year old daughter could not wait to try it. They put it on and wore it around the house. The next day we were going to the zoo, which is why we purchased the pack in the first place. We had a great day. It is super easy to out on at the car and when not in use you do mot notice you are wearing it. My daughter was able to get up and down (with assistance) very easily. Our zoo is set up to emulate the animals natural habitat so there is a lot of walking on trail like conditions from one exhibit to the next. She loved “getting a ride” and my husband loved carrying her while still being able to use his hands. Even better my husband doesn’t have the best back and he did not feel any pain or discomfort while wearing the pack. There are usually some complaints after having to carry her on uneven terrain for long amounts of time.
I was unaware that a product like this existed until recently and apparently I am not the only person. Husband was stopped by another man at the zoo inquiring about the carrier and where he purchased it After posting pictures of our day on a social media site we got even more inquiries.

This product is awesome and exactly what I was looking for. I originally wanted it for my three year old son who loves hiking with us but has very poor vision so often needs to be carried. He is at the age where he doesn't want to go in the baby carrier because well, he's not a baby. However we use it for both my three and five year old. I love all the features it has and my boys love having there very own hydration backpack. It is very easy to adjust for different heights both for the person carrying the child and to adjust if switching out children.we conducted a few safety tests before hitting the trails. We buckled the kids in and had them try to fall back into the bed and they tried so hard to fall but couldn't. I also had my son step off the bar so I could see what happens if his foot slipped, again the child safety harness kept him up. Being a parent I think safety is the biggest concern and this product passed with flying colors. We got tons of comments on it and the kids had so much fun.

We have been using a Piggyback Rider for many years and excited to see new models continue to come out. We have used this product in so many ways, from the zoo to mountain climbing, hiking and a leisure grocery store visit too. Did i mention we've used it to clean around the house "together" with my kid, showing her the value of teamwork and that keeping a clean house is important. We love how the Piggyback Rider is there when we need it, but light-weight and easy to carry when it's not needed. We even have the teenagers having fun carrying the younger cousins and siblings.
We would truly recommend any Piggyback Rider carrier system to a family with a child at least 3 years and up to about 6. We are still using ours with our 9 year old (she is a little short) when we go places she needs a better view.
Did i mention it's safe and reliable and the kids love it. They are all smiles!
