Why bring the PBR?

There’s many benefits to having a Piggyback Rider, especially while hiking. If your family has small children that may find it hard to keep up during a long hike, the Piggyback Rider gives you and your child the comfort you’re looking for in a child carrier. Compared to other child carriers, the PBR gives your child a boost, as their view is over your head, so it goes uninterrupted. While some kids can keep up with you during long hikes, but if you ever want to go longer, or move things along quickly, the PBR is lightweight enough to pack and use when needed.

Too Cold To Hike

In some locations, National Take A Hike Day falls in a pretty cold time of the year. We want to make sure you’re taking precaution, and staying warm while you’re out exploring. Here are some things to remember while hiking this November:

  • Dress in layers. You can always take a layer off it it get’s warm on the trail.
  • Start early in the day, so you’re done when the sun is still up.
  • Remember safety gear.
  • Bring warm tea or hot chocolate, as well as water. This will help you warm up when you start to feel chilly.
  • Be prepared to turn around. A trail that is totally clear in the summertime, could be covered in snow or ice during the winter.
