Halloween Safety

Halloween Safety

Posted by The Piggyback Rider Team on 17th Oct 2016

Halloween is one of the most popular holidays in the United States, and there’s really no questions as to why! Costumes, candy and fun to be had by the entire family. Safety is the main priority and we’re here to make it as easy as possible.

Stick to What You Know

The most popular activity is trick-or-treating, which entails venturing out into your neighbor with your children in tow. It’s best to stick to the areas you know best, and areas that are well lit. Always cross at crosswalks and watch for cars. If you’re driving on Halloween night, drive slow and alert, especially in residential areas.

Stay In Groups

If you can help it, make sure you stay in groups while out trick-or-treating. Especially if you’re allowing children to go out on their own. They should always stick with their group of friends. Reiterate staying in safe, well known areas that you and your family are comfortable with.

Finding the Perfect Costume

When picking out that perfect costume with your child, there’s a few things to consider:

  • Nothing should obstruct the view, use face paint instead of masks
  • Bright colors should be used wherever possible. Use flash lights and glow sticks to increase visibility
  • All props should be soft rubber or plastic (swords or broomsticks)
  • Keep costumes comfortable and warm (if you live in a cold climate)

Incorporating the Piggyback Rider

If you already own a Piggyback Rider, you’re in luck, you’re going to have a one of kind experience. Your PBR is going to come in handy this year, especially when you’re in charge of taking the younger kids trick-or-treating. If you’re with older kids who are up for the journey but younger children who may get tired early, they’ll still come along for the fun. They’ll be riding the bar! A great advantage of the PBR are the unique costume opportunities. Impress your friends and family by incorporating the PBR into your costume this year! Check it out:
